The government recently announced dental practices could start reopening from the 8th June. However, before we can do this we must take steps to ensure the safety of our patients, their families, and our team.
For this reason we will be adopting a phased reopening from 15th June. Initially, we will offer emergency appointments only. In order to adhere to social distancing these appointments will arranged by telephone only. Please do not attend the practice without an appointment.
We will require longer appointment times and there will be reduced availability. It will not be business as usual.
There is a lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout all aspects of healthcare in the UK. We MUST have the correct PPE to provide safe dental care. We do not have enough at the moment and we do not know when it will become available. Therefore, we are unable to provide a full range of services.
Our phased reopening hours are:
Monday: 8.30-1.00 & 2.00-5.30 (appointments made by telephone only)
Tuesday: 11.00-4.00 (telephone advice only)
Wednesday: 11.00-4.00 (telephone advice only)
Thursday: 8.30-1.00 & 2.00-5.30 (appointments made by telephone only)
Friday: 11.00-4.00 (telephone advice only)
On evenings, weekends and bank holidays, you can get severe dental emergency advice by calling 111.
Your visit to the practice will be different to before the pandemic, and we would like you to know what to expect. We will have a closed-door policy; admission into the building will be by appointment only. We ask that when you arrive, you call to let us know you have arrived and wait outside until we are ready for you.
Please arrive five minutes before your appointment time. We ask that you come alone, as visitors will not be admitted. If the appointment is for a child or someone who needs a carer, we ask that one parent or carer brings them. We ask that you do not bring anyone else.
We will be wearing extra PPE for some procedures to keep us all as safe as possible. We are doing everything we can to follow the new guidelines and to make your visit as safe as possible. We understand that some people may feel uneasy about face-to-face appointments. We are still able to offer telephone advice and if necessary, remote prescriptions. We are grateful for your understanding during this unprecedented time. We will all need to get used to this ‘new normal’.
